EA Sports ended their longstanding partnership with FIFA in 2022. FIFA 23 was the last instalment of this footballing franchise, after 30 years of EA licensing the FIFA name. In its place, EA introduced FC 24. And in 2024, players get an exciting UEFA Euro 24 update.
The Euro 24 update builds on EA’s existing partnership with UEFA. FC 24 launched with several UEFA-licensed competitions:

UEFA Europa League
UEFA Europa Conference League
UEFA Super Cup
But this is the first time EA has included an official Euros tournament mode in 12 years. Players haven’t been able to enjoy this mode since the UEFA Euro 2012 add-on.
Why now?
The decision to expand the UEFA partnership may have been influenced by rumours that FIFA is working on FIFA 25. This is a new console title to rival the FC series. Gaming industry insiders have suggested that 2K Games is developing FIFA 25. 2K Games is the studio behind big sports franchises like NBA 2K and WWE 2K.

UEFA Euro 2024 is one of the world’s most vibrant and exciting football tournaments, and we’re thrilled that the huge EA Sports FC 24 community across the globe will get the chance to engage with the tournament in such an authentic gaming environment.”
What to expect from the Euro 2024 update
The 2024 UEFA European Football Championship is the 17th edition of the UEFA European Championship. Germany is the host. The UEFA Euro 24 add-on for FC 24 provides a realistic tournament experience, available to players at no extra cost. The update includes updates to clubs and players, reflecting players’ current standings and capabilities in the real world. This ensures that the in-game experience closely mimics the real-world tournament.

As the host nation, Germany qualified automatically. Georgia's qualification is a significant surprise. This is their first major tournament as an independent nation. They made it through a tough play-off route, overcoming teams like Luxembourg and Greece, the latter on penalties. England and France are the pre-tournament favourites to win the competition.
Is the Euro 2024 update available on all platforms?
Yes. This free update will be available to players on PC, PS4 and PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

UEFA eEURO 2024: The official esports tournament
UEFA eEURO 2024 is an esports competition featuring Europe's best EA Sports FC players. National team representatives were confirmed in January 2024. They either qualified via a national player selection tournament, or were directly nominated. The group stage will be played as an online tournament, with seven groups in a round-robin format. The live final takes place in Germany in July 2024, with finalists competing for a share of a $100,000 prize pot.
