It’s official: from now on, Fortnite V-Bucks Gift Cards won’t be sold anywhere online.
The in-game currency of the popular game Fortnite, V-Bucks help to make every user experience unique. With V-Bucks, players can buy skins (outfits), weapons, Battle passes, emotes (actions) and more. You can earn them either through gameplay or buy them. Previously, a hassle-free and secure way to do this was to purchase a V-Bucks Gift Card. But, as of 21st January 2025, V-Bucks Cards won't be at any online retailers – including Mobile Top Up.
Online sales of Fortnite V-Bucks Gift Cards have ended. If you’re yet to use a Gift Card you've already bought? Don’t worry – you can still redeem any codes purchased online before 21st January 2025. So you can carry on using any codes you already have with no worries they’ll expire.
The decision to discontinue all online sales of V-Bucks Gift Cards has come from Fortnite operator Epic Games. So far, they haven’t given a reason for the change, which takes effect as of 21st January 2025. This decision means that V-Bucks Gift Cards will no longer be sold online by any retailer, including Mobile Top Up UK.
The good news? There are still plenty of ways to buy your Fortnite currency.
It’s still fast and simple to get your Fortnite currency. Instead of buying a V-Bucks Gift Card, simply buy a gift card (also known as a prepaid gaming card) for your favourite platforms. These can then be converted in-game.

Once you’ve got your code, redeem it on your favourite platform to get the credits and buy your Fortnite currency in-game via the V-Bucks tab. Decide how much you want, then go to checkout. Use your digital code to pay for your currency. Place your order, and you’re ready to play.

The most secure way to buy V-Bucks now is by using a Playstation or Xbox Gift Card.
- Don’t buy from auction sites, or sites claiming to be selling at a reduced price. These could be fake or stolen (and therefore invalidated)
